UK Seagrass Symposium 2025

In the beginning of November, three members of our seagrass team travelled to Wales to participate in the second UK Seagrass Symposium—a valuable and inspiring gathering of professionals, researchers, and students dedicated to seagrass restoration.

The symposium provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with long-standing partners, build new collaborations, and learn about the wide range of restoration initiatives underway across the United Kingdom. The presentations and discussions highlighted the strong international commitment to restoring coastal ecosystems.

At the end of the event, we visited the Project Seagrass nursery, where impressive developments have taken place since our last visit in 2024. The tour offered valuable insights and inspiration for our own restoration work.

We extend our thanks to Project Seagrass for organising this year’s symposium and look forward to the next edition in 2027, which will be held in Scotland.
