DIS-Method Manual released

One of the most common questions we receive is: “How do you successfully plant seagrass seeds using the DIS method?”. While the Dispenser Injection Seeding (DIS) method, using caulking guns to inject seagrass seeds into the sediment, may seem straightforward, achieving optimal results requires careful preparation, calibration, and execution. From mixing seeds and mud to correctly adjusting and filling the modified caulking gun, each step plays a critical role in maximising the chance that seeds successfully grow into plants in the field.

As the developers of this method and with years of experience in seagrass restoration, The Fieldwork Company has compiled a detailed instruction manual to guide practitioners through every stage of the process. The manual is based on extensive research to develop a method that results in high plant emergence rates in the field that is suitable for scaling up seagrass restoration.
