RWS about seagrass success in the Grevelingen Meer and Veerse Meer

In an article published by Rijkswaterstaat, the first results of the ongoing seagrass restoration work in the Grevelingen and Veerse Meer are shared. More than two-thirds of the trial locations are showing successful seagrass growth, with the seagrass at successful sites increasing by 100–200%.

As part of the five-year seagrass restoration project commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat, The Fieldwork Company is working together with Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Witteveen+Bos and Altenburg & Wymenga on the reintroduction of Zostera marina in the Dutch Southwest Delta. Together with researchers and volunteers, our team has been involved in planting and monitoring the experimental seagrass fields.
